Data Retention Policy

Effective Date: 15 July 2026

This Data Retention Policy explains how long The Lab retains personal data and what happens when data is no longer needed.

1. Retention Periods

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary:

  • Active accounts: for the duration of the account plus 30 days
  • Saved jobs: until deleted by the user or account deletion
  • Applications: until deleted by the user or account deletion
  • Uploaded CVs: until deleted by the user or account deletion
  • Job postings: until closed by the employer or automatically expired
  • Employer profiles: for the duration of the subscription plus 30 days

2. Job Vacancy Reviews

Every vacancy is reviewed every 30 days to maintain accuracy. Vacancies that have expired or have broken application links are automatically flagged for review and removed from public listings.

3. Account Deletion

When a user deletes their account, all associated data is permanently removed, including profile information, saved jobs, uploaded CVs, preferences and applications. This process is irreversible and complies with GDPR data subject rights.

4. Inactive Accounts

Accounts that have been inactive for 24 months may be scheduled for deletion. Users will receive a notification before any action is taken.

5. Legal Obligations

We may retain certain data for longer where required by law, such as for tax records or legal disputes.
